NIT Game Specifics

The administration was able to work this out exactly as it should be. (Link) The gymnastics meet has been moved to 4pm.

One thing that the announcement does not cover is what time will the doors open for the basketball game? With general admission seating for the basketball game and the gymnastics event limiting how early the doors will open…this piece of information is important.

The following is from the announcement and edited for some additional information that we have received:

Following Tuesday night’s win at Drexel, the NC State men’s basketball team will continue its quest for the NIT Championship at home on Friday night. Sidney Lowe and company will play host to Marist in Reynolds Coliseum in a game that tips off at 9:30 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPNU.

The sixth-seeded Wolfpack (19-15) upset third-seed Drexel on Tuesday, while seventh-seeded Marist (25-8) won at second-seed Oklahoma State. The winner of the game will advance to play the winner of the West Virginia-UMass game on the road next week.

All seating for the game is general admission and tickets can be purchased for $20. Wolfpack Club members can purchase tickets from 2 p.m. today until the game is sold out. Any tickets not purchased by Wolfpack Club members by noon on Thursday will go on sale to the general public. Because of high call volume, fans are encouraged to purchase tickets online at gopack.com, but the numbers to the ticket office are 919/865-1510 or 1-800-310-PACK.

Fans purchasing tickets will be able to pick them up on Friday between noon and 6:30 p.m. at the Vaughn Towers box office at Carter-Finley Stadium. Any tickets not picked up during that time will be at the Reynolds will-call window on Friday evening.

There will be a special code for Wolfpack Club members which will be required at the gopack.com site beginning at 2 pm. Additionally, there will be a limit of six tickets per account.

NC State students can purchase tickets for $5 at the athletic ticket office on Trinity Road, or at Reynolds between 10 am and 2 pm on Thursday.

excuse me…Tom Sorenson from the Charlotte Observer

  2. highstick 03/14/2007 at 5:07 PM #

Sorenson’s trying to jump on the band wagon when State starts kicking Carolina’s butt on a regular basis.

Looks like WPC tickets are gone.

A question for those in the know. My wolfpack club pal just purchase 6 tx for Friday night. The posting on picking up tickets says they can be picked up at Carter Finley. Is that just for general public purchasing tix or can I pick up his tickets at the coliseum box office after lunch on Friday? Does anyone really know?

We made the Bittersweet 16, and get a home game in Reynolds, when it seemed like a genuine Wolfpack assassination attempt was in play. And Tarheel fans are afraid to rub it in. I love El Sid and the boys!!!

Hang an NIT banner this year Sid, and we’ll look at like our boys looked at old glory Sunday, with pride and respect. These young men will be the cornerstone of the Wolfpack roundball renaissance.

why are we so excited about the NIT?

  7. VladsCross 03/14/2007 at 9:28 PM #

You ask why? It’s not because it’s the NIT. It’s because of a new breed of leadership and competitive spirit that has invaded the Wolfpack BB program. It’s out of respect for the efforts of a team that over achieved greatly when no one, not even die hard pack fans would give them a chinamans chance in hell of making a success of the season. We had ESPN the N&O and all those pink pantie wearing homos from Chapel Hill prepared to laugh at our expense all season long. Crow is an awfully hard bird to swallow!

Damn…I misspelled panty. so much for proof reading

I’m excited because i get to see a game in Reynolds. the only other games i’ve seen in there have been the “Heritage games”

Early in a coach’s tenure, when not much is expected, the NIT is kind of a blast.

I prefer the “Splenda Sixteen” moniker.

    NO…. NO….. NO!

“Outside, a group of students pitched tents and created what they called Loweville to wait for student tickets to go on sale Thursday morning.”

PLEASE …. all of you high-rolling passionate “Fat Wolfpackers” …. NOT LOWEVILLE !!! Demand a smidgen of originality from your young pups. Call it Sid Town …. call it Pack City …. call it Fuquay Varina …….. BUT NOT (coach’s last name)Ville.

Washburn, Shackleford, Lorenzo and Cozell could come up with better than that!

I was in Reynolds for the 3-A BB Finals last Saturday …. same ol’ Reynolds … quite the cool venue …. yes, the endzones have raised bleachers now.

I like SidCity…. but maybe thats just me.

Vlad, I have no specific knowledge, but I would imagine it will work like this:

All the will-call tickets are in a big box (or a couple of boxes). Those boxes will be at the will-call window of Vaughan Towers at Carter Finley (not the RBC Center will call window) from noon until 6:30pm tomorrow. Then, they will pack up and move these boxes over to Reynold’s and start distributing again beginning at 8:00pm. They need the 1.5 hours in between to physcially pack up, do some paperwork, transport, unpack, and set up distribution.

Again, I have no specific knowledge, but that’s the only scenario that explains the time gap.

    SidCity is sweet….

you mean the university is allowing our fans to be energetic and passionate about sports… wow

maybe wolfpack sdorts are back on the map!!!!!!!!!

could this be another big ups to Lee? two in two days? silence is his best attribute

You “kids” who have never seen a real game with real competition with something real on the line are going to be absolutely amazed.

The atmosphere is head and shoulders above that provided by the ESA.

I can’t help but wonder if this game will cause the old ESA vs. Reynolds debate to come again to the forefront sparked by the younger students realizing what they’ve missed out on all these years?

  16. GAWolf 03/15/2007 at 8:36 AM #

^^ That first line should include “in Reynolds” somewhere. I should probably proofread before I post. I’m sure without this clarification someone will read just my first line and go bananas over all the games we’ve played that mean more than this one and all the teams we’ve played that are ten times better than Marist.

  17. packbackr04 03/15/2007 at 8:43 AM #

is anybody else excited that our kids are camping out for a game…. it has been a long time since the admin has allowed any of this type of this behavior has it not?

  18. GAWolf 03/15/2007 at 9:37 AM #

^^ See my post under the “Host Marist” thread.

***”And last night on ESPN Digger kept referring to “Engine” Atsur”***

CaptainCraptacular, I wasn’t refering just to you, there were others saying the same thing.

You’re saying it’s only Sorenson and local stuff, but wait, didn’t you just quote Digger Phelps of ESPN talking about “Engine” Atsur, last night possibly? Or is that old, I really don’t know?

  20. redfred2 03/15/2007 at 9:48 AM #

I know one thing, if the local doesn’t mention NCSU or says something bad, they are usually called to task right here on this site. I guess on the other hand, it doesn’t mean much when they finally start saying good things.

  21. redfred2 03/15/2007 at 9:51 AM #

    Funny post BLS!!!

  22. GAWolf 03/15/2007 at 9:51 AM #

I don’t know Redfred… a lot of people came to praise the guy from SI who wrote good things about Sid. I read some folks even sent him a thank you email or the like. That’s a pretty strong response for positive journalism from our front.

  23. Jeremy Hyatt 03/15/2007 at 9:57 AM #

so there are no ticket available to buy if you didn’t get thru the wpc yesterday? bugger!

  24. CaptainCraptacular 03/15/2007 at 9:57 AM #

Wasn’t me who quoted digger. I think it was tractor57.

  25. Jeremy Hyatt 03/15/2007 at 10:17 AM #

well this sucks. I should have tried harder to get a WPC promo code
