Drexel Game Thread (Last of the Season?)

Is this the way the season ends? Not with a bang (like the ACCT run), but a whimper (an injured, mentally and physically exhausted Pack squad playing out the string in front of a handful of fans)? Sadly, it seems likely, as this previous post explained. To clarify, I sure as hell hope we win, and will even make the trek to a sports bar in about an hour to watch on ESPN-Unavailable. But I won’t fault the staff or these kids in the slightest if we lose – even if we lose by 40.

Anyway, your in-game comments belong here. Let’s ride it out together!

8:12 update: I hate to say I told you so, but…

Halftime update: Really proud of the guys for hanging in and grinding it out. Drexel never met a shot they didn’t like, that’s for sure.

Damned near midnight update: Being wrong never felt so right! What incredible character. Go Marist!

Sounds like Drexel is now ice cold. Are we taking the 3 too quickly without going down low??

they just showed Michigan and FSUs game’s highlights. So, I think State’s should be on the way. Especially since everyone is dry humping Drexel’s leg on ESPN.

Drexel is running pretty well off missed state shots. Neiman blew a bunny that resulted in a jam at the other end. Gotta stop that.

thanks for the score updates. I am refreshing Yahoo and SFN alternately.

someone should set up a SFN bracket group on Yahoo!

    ^1.21 to answer your question…both.

We have missed some easy layups too.

Thanks RT, sounds (radio, how accurate could they be??) like we’ve had several opportunities to tie or take the lead.

State is getting some easy shot off of high post passes, but missed two of three. Nice patience by the pack getting back into this thing. Drexel is the team taking drummy shots. Not many fouls.

We have had several opportunities. We’ve also had some nice cut layups that were missed by Neiman and McCauley. I think our biggest problem is Elegard (their center). He is long like Brendan Wright.

    24-22 Drexel 2:46

Radio is making it sound like Drexel has only 2 real scoring threats. (Mejia and Elegar)

  12. Red_Terrors 03/13/2007 at 7:57 PM #

We’re starting to get easy shots off our cuts. 25-24 Drexel

I’m listening to 680am. and i’m hearing the fans shout ‘Let’s go Drex-el’
There is something fundamentally silly about that, but I do have a little captain in me.

Michigan game’s almost over on ESPN2, maybe there’ll be some highlites…

After starting off slow/cold and Drexel being red hot, being down only 2 at the half (even after several opportunities to tie and get the lead) isn’t that bad. Hopefully we’ll have one of our En Fuego starts to the 2nd.

Sidney looks dapper in his black pin-stripe suit, white short and wolfpack red tie.

^justaguy…yeah he does. I think we’re in good shape. We weathered the storm, now Lowe will give one of those great halftime speeches and make the necessary adjustments.
