ACCT Friday – Evening Session Thread

I am far too anxious to give in-depth, useful analysis. Simply put, we have to stop either Singletary or Reynolds, or hope that one of them is cold. Plus, State really needs some offense from Grant, Fells, and/or Horner. We can’t rely solely on 3 players every night – especially when you can expect the Cavs to get very physical with Costner. Can we do it? Yes. Will we do it? Let’s see, shall we? NC State’s 2007 local cable HD debut is moments away…

Also, on a lesser (but still important front), you need to lose your innate affinity for the underdog at 9:30. If Wake goes farther than us in the ACCT, it wouldn’t surprise me if they snatched away the Pack’s NIT bid. May Harvey Hale remember that he’s Harvey Hale tonight.

Chris92heel – you are a valued contributor and may even be good luck. Think unx started out as a typo and people here kind of liked it that way.

Hell yes! Hope someone tells Cliff Ellis that NCSU hasn’t won a game this year where they didn’t score at least 70 points. “State wants the score in the 50’s”? Yes 50 points per half maybe. Great second half defense tonight. I love it! And how about Nieman!

  3. WolfPup35 03/09/2007 at 9:39 PM #

Brendan Wright?? I said that the sportswriters were high on the baby blue rocks when I saw that!

Costner 50pts. in 2 games! Shutdown Defense! Great movement with and without the ball.

    Costner….the REAL ACC ROY!

I’m speechless. Gavin Grant is the most lovable, maddening, incredible, frustrating player who has ever played for one of my teams. Survive and Advance. Sidney Lowe is the man.

CHRIS92HEEL – Thanks for asking, I want to know too

  6. chris92heel 03/09/2007 at 9:42 PM #

Thanks BJD. Glad to know it signifies nothing ;>

As for Costner – honestly, if you took brandan off the heels, our record might be exactly the same. State’s wouldn’t be close without Costner.

It appeared we were more tired in the first half than the second. It’s almost like at halftime Sid told them to simply put it out of their head and they listened. So much more life in their legs in the second half and it showed at both ends of the court.

Costner reminds me of Christian Laettner….except younger.

That is EXACTLY why Costner deserves it more! He was more of a contributor to his team!

    Sweeter.

Awesome game. Love Sidney. Love our team. Go Pack!

    And Go Wake!

  12. WolfPup35 03/09/2007 at 9:45 PM #

Laettner?? Costner is not an arrogant prick, though.

  13. schitzonation84 03/09/2007 at 9:46 PM #

Costner is showing why he could have been rookie of the year. He’s giving great effort so far in this tourny. Had the effort been there all year he would have been ROY. And how about Ben, you think maybe he’s a little pissed for not making all ACC. Darn sports writers must not watch any ball games.

  14. Packster 03/09/2007 at 9:46 PM #

    Well yeah….physical skillset only.

  15. schitzonation84 03/09/2007 at 9:50 PM #

Nieman named player of the game by the wolfpack sports network. Great call.

I’m placing an order for my Red Jacket this offseason.

My wife told me tonight that she was going to buy me one.

  17. the_phisherman 03/09/2007 at 9:53 PM #

Where do I get a red jacket?

  18. highstick 03/09/2007 at 9:57 PM #

Hoggbutt and Cliff Ellis, two “porkers” from Clempson!

I tell you what guys, Jimmy V’s ghost is on the sidelines with the T’Amato! I’ve got a really good feeling now! But I sure would hate to have to beat VT for a third time this year.

I just don’t see how the NIT cannot take State no matter what else happens! Our destiny may not be the “pot of gold” at the end of the NCAA rainbow this year, but Sid and this team has shown more guts, more character, and more of any other descriptive term that you can think of, since the 83 team.

Sid, WE ARE SOLIDLY BEHIND YOU!!! You’ve made us believe again this year! You can’t imagine how great that sounds!!!!!!!!

  19. chris92heel 03/09/2007 at 9:58 PM #

LOL @ the red jacket. I know its good luck, but dark skinnded bruhs shouldn’t wear bright colors like that.

As I just told my UVa fan friend, UVa is a garbage institution full of rascist pricks. They’ve never won anything and they never will. Even though they win tonight. Ugh.

Duh, huh, I think they are still that way!! LOL!

  21. Packster 03/09/2007 at 10:00 PM #

I’m surprised the site is not rocking a little more than it is. That was such a HUGE win.

  22. BJD95 03/09/2007 at 10:01 PM #

It’s funny – Gavin was apparently the only player who thought Sid’s jacket looked good (per N&O).

  23. highstick 03/09/2007 at 10:04 PM #

Sidney, my brother, can wear any damn color blazer that he wants as long as he wins and it ain’t baby crap blue~!

  24. fredo 03/09/2007 at 10:06 PM #

I haven’t posted since the Sendek-Barnes-Calipari-Montgomery-Beilein-Lavin fiasco. I thought State was nuts to get rid of Sendek and crazy to hire Lowe.

Guess that’s why I haven’t been offered an analyst job yet! That bright red jacket says it all–intensity and pride. Good to see the Pack back. Wish they could’ve been on the other side of the draw from my boys, though (your first round victim).

^^The darker your skin, the BETTER you look in bright colors, especially red. Sid was looking very good tonight.
