Now……THAT’S RE-DUNK-U-LOUS!!! This kid can flat out FLY…he’s not that fast, but he covers a lot of ground in very few steps. Carowhina found out the hard way that this team will not go down easily or quietly. You play State, you in for a fight!

BTW..for giggles and shits I went to a UNX blog site, and what do you think I saw in the VERY FIRST post I read….a whiny ass Tarhole crying about the REFS!!! Go freaking figure! They get flat out outplayed and blame the officiating! NOW THEY GET TO DEAL WITH REFS IN CAMERON>>>THEY AIN’T SEEN NOTHING YET!!!!!!!

This article shows how a little success translates into swaying recruits.

Dublin’s Barnes commits to N.C. State — By Jeff Hood
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Published on: 02/04/07 03:47 PM
Dublin linebacker Thomas Barnes committed to N.C. State during an official visit to the Raleigh campus this weekend.

“I had a great time on my visit,” Barnes told Pack Pride. “Actually, I committed. The facilities and stadium really sold me, but I know the coaches will help me get better and I really feel like they’re a team that’s about to do something.

“We got to go to the basketball game and that was just amazing. I never thought they would beat Carolina in basketball. That was definitely a big win for the basketball team.”

Saw Brackman laughing and smiling at the end there…oh well.

Wouldn’t it be nice if he had felt a little of what McCauley and Costner expressed in their interviews, he’d still be playing BB for NC State right now.

I am somewhat conflicted about this type of dunk. There is clearly an element of showboating involved but it electrifies the crowd and definitely pumps up the team. This seems more over the top to me than a football player diving into the end zone.

Two things I know for sure – It is better for State to be doing this type of dunk than the opposition (Marvin Williams comes to mind) and if you are going to do it, you better dang sure make it.

RickJ, I almost wished he (Gavin) had put his hand behind his head with that “pose” that is burned in my memory forever.

To follow up on what Wolfpup35 said…I hear the same crap from unx fans too. I work with a bunch of hokie grads (so last week was very sweet) and one unx fan in the next office. I saw him in the hall this morning and the first thing he started with was “poor officiating.” I quickly put him in his place, especially since he said he only saw the last 6 minutes. I swear, the refs finally call hand checking on the holes and they get upset about it. And c’mon I don’t care what anyone says about hansbros’ T, you don’t swipe at a ball with a CLOSED FIST!!! He might not have tried to hit Costner, but he wasn’t swiping at the ball either!

Same here. The ball did rattle around before going down. I’d rather the team be the in headlines, than to see just one player on a highlight reel. Just a safe, straight on slam without all of the style points, would be more to my liking. I do like the fact that GG doesn’t seem to mind taking risks and forcing the issue though, but it’s both good and bad at times. He seems to be a lot more patient in the offense and waiting to pick his spots now. Maybe he knows that 2 points are more important and he got it out of his system with that one dunk? …Nah

You know who complains about refs? Losers. If you’re bitching about the refs, you’re bitching about the wrong thing.

On the dunk, I laughed at Lowe’s comments on his show last night. He sorta chuckled and said, “I’m glad he made it.” What was left out was “Because I would have hated to have killed him.”

Some quick points I wanted to share..

“Re-Dunkulous” was just the leading quote (3 x’s actually) on ESPN’s Ultimate Highlight this morning after the SB. It was shown during Kobe dropping a bomb, but later in the highlight they showed McCauley, Costner, and Fells dunking (not Grants) and then showed our fans storming the court.

I’ve officially watched the game 4 times now thanks to Tivo.

That dunk did just about bounce out…..but it had to be done. (thank you for going in ball)

I didn’t notice brackman on the dunk response until about my 3rd time watching it. he was stoked and I cannot fault him for picking Baseball over BBall. I do not think he passed on playing because of his fear of losing with Sid. Baseball will pay more and provide him with a healthier body compared to banging in the paint.

^He passed on basketball because it was going no where, there was no passion involved, and it just wasn’t fun. If the coaching change had happened earlier and he was out there right now, there would have been much more incentive to play and much more talk his ability to play in the NBA. It just did not happen because there was no way to showcase anyone’s individual talents, or for him to even get excited about basketball anymore. I don’t blame him under the circumstances, but it is truly a shame.

One day we will look back on this Dunk the way we looked back on that Sidney Lowe to Thurl Bailey over Sam Perkins Dunk.
