Deadspin Pans Pirates Again

As a follow-up to this entry last week, the folks at Deadspin give us a great one – “Unbagged Heads Prevail”.

Why are we talking about ECU basketball?

Well, you esteemed Athletics Director finds their program important enough to TRAVEL to Greenville next year as the first Big Four school in history willing to waste an OOC road game in Minges Coliseum. So, I guess we have to talk about them because of their obvious importance to college basketball.

Like i said before… Mr. Jackson is the one who creates the schedule isn’t he? Fowler simply approves of it right?

One good thing about it: should be plenty of good seats for NCSU fans who live i eastern North Carolina to watch the Pack play! :^) ECU has never…. and I mean never- had much success in basketball. They have however- in recent years knocked off some top teams: Louisville, Memphis, Marquette in their arena. Stokes and Terry Holland destroyed their chances this season- by dumping their entire roster last summer in favor of an entire new slate of new recruits for his new hire- Stokes- to get a jump start on improvment. I expect Lowe and State to be much better next season & EC to be marginally better than a doormat. Easy road win and exhibition for NCSU fan base downeast. Should be fun followup to traveling to ECU’s Dowdy-Ficklen next fall for football

I know you guys don’t like to hear about the political pressure that gets put on state employees from legislators. But I’ll try again.

With ECTC — it’s not so much as a threat but the way that the state budget machine is greased. “Hey — if you schedule a Home and Away with ECTC it would make me real happy (oh and those increases in the budget you wanted — I got them covered).” Oh — hey — come over here and talk to my pals Erskine and Marc.”

we’ve all seen the intrigue that was used by and influenced House Speaker Jim Black and others. The intrigue and good old boy system. Blame Foulup or Jackson but they are just doing what they gotta do. They aren’t going to piss in the wind. And that is precisely why Foulup won’t respond to all the crap we throw at him for scheduling.

This is one of those areas that aren’t black and white. A lot more intrigue and a– kissing for the greater good (be it personal or for the school).

And Black is finally going to freakin’ jail! I’d love to catch Fowler alone in the john at the Capital Grill and kick his butt along with the rest of the yellow dogs that keep electing these criminals!

Thank God, I moved over the border to SC. Now we’ve got to figure out how to not “claim” Al Sharpton as Strom’s illegitimate great grandson nephew twice removed or something like that!

If you think moving across the border to South Carolina is a ‘step up’….. then you have bigger problems :^). Let’s not conveniently forget… the guy who blatantly demanded $50k to buy his vote and demanded job for his son was a conservative right-wing republican. We’ve all long since learned in Wash DC & state capitals- moral flaws know no political or spiritiual boundaries.

UNC football has to travel to greenville for an ’07 match, according to the N&O. that’s perhaps speaks to the political pressure issue. but sure, it’s all fowler’s fault.

I know about football. That equal between State and UNX but I need to know one thing. Is UNx playing ECTC next year or the next. Please — can anyone answer that?
