I hope everybody can remember what happened the last time I started a thread like this. Well, I have the same vaguely positive feeling today.
UPDATE: I feel much less optimistic after hearing (from a trusted source) that Atsur has re-injured his hamstring in practice and is out for tonight (and maybe more). Shit. Oh well, read on anyway.
This time, I think it’s more rational. Clemson is coming off a dramatic, emotional, last-second win over Georgia Tech on Saturday. Even better, Clemson has had 3 days to bask in the glow of being the only remaining Division 1 unbeaten. Having watched the Tigers play a few times, it’s pretty clear that they are indeed a good team. Note that I didn’t say “great” or “Top Ten” – just good. There is no better time to catch a team like Clemson than immediately after a “validating win” – especially when your own squad looked like complete crap the last time out.
Clemson hasn’t played many (if any) road games in front of a truly hostile crowd, either. We’ll see if that pays dividends for the Pack tonight. I truly think that it will.
