What A Guy

What a guy! (Link) The kid is every coach and fan’s dream.

So he cannot lie. He is not one of those players who will insist a victory is all that matters. Not now. Not with so many victories to go.

    packbackr,
ND did have 2 loses this year to top 10 teams, Michigan & USC. They’re still media darlings. Wisconsin would have pushed ND out of the BCS if more than 2 teams from a conference were allowed in BCS games. ND will be crushed by LSU in the Sugar Bowl.

” but Rivers is the man and will win a ring before he is done with the game and comes back to Raleigh to coach the PACK!!!”

This floats my boat. Can you believe what this guy could do for NCSU as HC? Even now.

    GO PACK!!

What on earth makes you think that Philip is qualified to be a head coach right now? Intangibles do not make up for experience and perspective.

    ^Good answer

I wasn’t thinking about it when I wrote it but Rivers has been studying the game since he was 5 or so years old. He was a coach on the field when he was at NCSU.

I would take my chances with PR as a head coach right now. He would hire an experienced Asst HC to manage all the details. I would bet we would not come out flat to play, would not have to call time-out because we couldn’t think fast enough to get a play to the huddle before the 24 second clock ran out and we would not be running some obsolete offense. Phillip would lead the staff like he leads the Chargers — meaning that his staff would fight in hell for and with him. I didn’t have to think hard for any of this, I just looked at what was missing this past year.
