Hey…its the only national championship a Lee Fowler Athletics Department can win — won dictated by the lunatic fans. The irony.

Off topic. How terrifying is the front page pic and story on PackPride?

I’d laugh if Jed wasnt the AD.

this sight’s blind jabs at Lee Fowler whenever possible is getting real old.

Lee Fowler’s blind jabs at the Wolf Pack nation whenever possible is getting real old.

Maybe you should realise how horrible an AD we have and get your facts straight before barraging a site with stupid opinions.

  6. 98st8 12/04/2006 at 1:50 PM #

McWufpacker^^ reasonable people can have different opinions as it relates to Lee Fowler. Just because WP 01 has an opinion that is different from yours does not make it stupid. What I am getting tired of is people calling people out for being “stupid or morons” for not sharing the same viewpoint. I would imagine that 98% of the people that visit this website are diehard Wolfapck fans. Some of those diehard Wolfpack fans might withhold thier judgement of Lee Fowler unitl the coaching search has ended. That does not make them stupid

Why does Mr. Wuf and other mascots, including the Ram from UNC, wear what appear to be sailor hats?

Just wondering if anyone knows if there is some point to this.

  8. Cardiff Giant 12/04/2006 at 2:22 PM #

Any truth to the rumor that Mr. Wuf may have to leave for the security of his family?

  9. test4eko 12/04/2006 at 2:35 PM #

Cardiff, I believe Mr. Wuf’s days are numbered as rumors swirl that he’s getting better “financial security” from the University of Nevada.

“this sight’s blind jabs at Lee Fowler whenever possible is getting real old.”

Blind? Not at all, sir. We see his deficiencies very clearly.

I’m new to this enternet thing so someone talk to me and tell me any news on the canidates for football coach.

^ Say, “please,” and learn to spell “Internet,” and I am sure someone will be happy to assist you.

Cardiff, I may not always agree with you, but that was pretty damn funny^^^

In an effort to not insult so many people with Uncle Jed references (he was the only one with any sense on the Beverly Hillbillies, btw) we now refer to Lee as Barnaby Jones – the role Buddy Ebsen played after he was Uncle Jed. Just like “The FBI,” Barnaby Jones was a Quinn Martin Production — so you’re damn skippy it was high quality Tee Vee.

Another Buddy Ebsen trivia factoid is that he was orginally selected to play the role of the Tin Man in the film “The Wizard of Oz.” You see, Ebsen, like Fowler, was a song and dance man, and the irony of our AD accompanying Dorothy on a saunter down the Yellow Brick Road is just to ironic to be a simple passing coincidence.

Finally, you folks who get your thongs twisted in a knot over criticizing or making fun of Lee Fowler need to grow up, honestly. Parody like “Uncle Jed” is as old as the political cartoon and is not going to go away. Nor is being critical of authority. While it is certainly in vogue to dodge criticism by attacking the messenger, it is a fool’s errand when the message being delivered is on-point. Quite often SFN’s crits of Lee Fowler are so on point they have to sting his eyes when he reads them.

RAWFS, I am not a Lee Fowler apologist. I in fact do beleive that he deserves much of the criticism that is thrown his way (not All). What I do not appreciate is some messangers degrading your fellow State fans for having different opinions. What I am saying is that reasonable people can have differing opinions, and yes it does hurt this website when those people are told that they are stupid, morons…or are threatened, as I saw last week.

  16. highonlowe 12/04/2006 at 3:59 PM #

Its a good thing we’re all being “PC” today. Otherwise, I would say something like, aohinson is a moron. But I’ll take the high road today

  17. Cardiff Giant 12/04/2006 at 4:44 PM #

“What are you so kind of loser.”

It’s a cold world on the Enternet, isn’t it?

  18. Cardiff Giant 12/04/2006 at 4:47 PM #

“and yes it does hurt this website when those people are told that they are stupid, morons…or are threatened, as I saw last week.

Charging people with collective responsibility for fictitious criminal activity, however, we leave to our athletic director.

98st8 I meant no disrespect to you or WP01 by my comments – however correct me if I’m wrong: The definition of stupid as seen on answers.com is:

    Stupid
    adj., -er, -est.
    1. Slow to learn or understand; obtuse.
    2. Tending to make poor decisions or careless mistakes.
    3. Marked by a lack of intelligence or care; foolish or careless: a stupid mistake.
    4. Dazed, stunned, or stupefied.
    5. Pointless; worthless: a stupid job.

Lets discuss this reasonably as you say. In no way do I feel WP01’s comment was stupid as in pointless (5), however if you look at the first few definitions you can clearly understand how I would be a little miffed by the fact that he accuses this site of “blind jabs at Lee Fowler” while completely ignoring or stating the counterpoint that Lee Fowler not only makes blind jabs at the fan base, but goes so far as to accuss the fan base of criminal acts and threats against Herb’s family, which I just have a little bit of a problem with. You can see how in my opinion I felt his was a little obtuse and littered with careless mistakes. But take my opinion for what you want, I’m just a silly guy on the internets that is causing so much of the problem Lee is seeing in trying to get a new football coach.

  20. 98st8 12/04/2006 at 5:59 PM #

    “ficticious criminal activity” another exageration^

  21. 86ncsu95 12/04/2006 at 8:03 PM #

So, here we go again…another day and another unncessary Lee bashing comment in the middle of a coaching search. As somebody who hires al ot of people, I can tell you candidates want some degree of security and to know that the person who hires them will be there to support the coaching philosophy. And by the way, we did have a national champion swimmer last year. Shame on you for not giving him his due in your blind attempt to discredit LF.

  22. WolfPup35 12/04/2006 at 9:16 PM #

Seems like a lighthearted plug for Mr. Wuf has ended up as a barrage of negativity towards Uncle Jed. The only bad thing about calling LF Uncle Jed is that it puts Jed Clampett in a bad light. MUCH LOVE FOR THE REAL UNCLE JED!! Anybody that comes from the same bloobline as Ellie May CAN’T be all bad!!!! LF is a GOOBER!!!

VOTE FOR MR. WUF!! VOTE OFTEN!!! Hell, he went 9-2 in the contest!!!
Let’s FINISH and TURN IT UP for the best mascot in the nation!!!

    98st8,

I personally try to respect other people’s opinions, and I think you and I can agree to disagree on the finer points without resorting to insults.

I myself try to avoid insults when I write on my blog. Being human, and non-objective when it comes to NC State, often I personally fail in that quest. That however does not mean nor should it imply that I have no respect for Fowler, but instead that at times I take issue with some of the things that in my view he repeatedly does. Lee and I have in fact have had reasonable (albeit short) conversations both in e-mail and in person where I’ve expressed my concerns, and he listened to me and offered his reasoning in reply. At times this has changed my viewpoints, others, not so much.

One of the real problems with Internet forums in my opinion is that people can vent to the larger public in the heat of a moment. Shortly after a loss (or in a game thread even moreso) one can really make rash statements that later prove to be fully incorrect. That’s just common sense, would you not agree?

Anyway, these days an AD has to deal with a plethora of opinions that are posted for everyone to see on the ‘net. It is not going to go away anytime soon, and Lee Fowler and everyone else needs to learn to deal with it. His position is just that much more public now that virtual communities exist and communications among the members of them is instantaneous.

  24. Woof Wolf 12/04/2006 at 10:02 PM #

No big time college football or basketball coach believes that they work for the AD. They know very damn well who they work for and who can fire them or get the things they need to do their jobs. The AD is simply a facilitator. He is suppose to be the go between for the programs, the BOT and the supporters. He is supposed to be the “Rah, Rah,” guy. We just want him to do his job and engage his brain before he starts his mouth.

If he would talk to the fans instead of at us things might get better. It might even help if he started his own blog and gave us a chance for some dialog. I know he would not have time to monitor it himself and that there would be a lot of way out critical and even hate stuff that he wouldn’t want or need to read. But someone could filter the BS and get to him the sane suggestions and comments that he might need to see. He could take maybe thirty minutes a day and respond to a few.

He may even start to like the Internet.
