Look lively, chums, Bob Lee’s reading this!
(P.S. UNC-CH still stinks.)

StateFansNation has a fan in Bob Lee Swagger, local UNC-Chapel Hill sports fan, “loud-mouth conservative,” and scourge of “message board loons,” “nutty faculty squirrels” and inept, kneejerk “politically correct” chancellors with bald heads who play organ.

In his 2006 “close-out special” column — just prior to ripping UNC-CH figurehead admin John “The Voice of the Poor … Till After the Primaries” Edwards and Durham D.A. Mike “The Voice of the Poor … with Multiple Sex Partners for Money” Nifong — Swagger tells what sports sites on the ‘net he likes:

Several readers have asked which websites DO I visit regularly AND RECOMMEND. I’m glad to oblige. Sites I check daily are StateFansNation .. RedAndWhiteFromNCState … TarHeelTimes. I know those sites owners and I respect their objectives. James @ TarHeelTimes provides a TERRIFIC clipping service of any articles on Carolina teams and athletes. EVERY Tar Heel should have TarHeelTimes.com bookmarked. … SFN has a great format that does not totally exclude the “short bus crowd” but greatly minimizes their influence. What I really like is that SFN and RWFNCS are both pro-Wolfpack sites and NOT anti-Carolina sites. I’m sure PackPride still exists but I haven’t visited that “biker bar” in over three years.

Thanks, bud.

Oh, and it was awfully big of “Bob Lee Swagger” to post two photographs of Katie Couric in tears that were pulled from stories where she describes her husbands failed battle against cancer. Very classy.

… Lee, hows the wife and daughters? Did you ever get that sump pump fixed up at Lake Gaston?

Actually one of the Katie pics was when she saw the most recent ratings book. Only the older one on the left was about Jay’s passing. But you must have missed the snide remark I made about her “victimization”. Keep checking the website, I’ll be making more.

Before this gets unnecessarily snarly for the others here, Lee, feel free to e-mail me directly with your suggestions for any columns. I’m easy to find.

Best slap a lock on this one, SFN mods … temperature gauge reading “hot”. Good exchange with most of you … expect Semper Fi to be filling those coaching offices in The Murphy this week.

^I think Coach Spaz and Coach Bible will love it down here in Raleigh. I know Spaz interviewed for the HC job before they hired Green Bay OC, but that he would probabably be welcome to stay on (the AD of BC even sent an informal invitation to Spaz during halftime in Charlotte).
My gut tells me that after the rejection he may be inclined to start fresh w/TOB here in Raleigh. Obviously family concerns could trump all that hogwash. Dana Bible would be a huge asset, IMHO. I love the balanced attack BC tries to implement. It will take two or three years of reorganizing the OL but I think after that the offense should be in great shape if Bible packs his bags.

How’s Berstickler’s ballsacks tasting these days?

Maybe I am old school, but I have no room in my circle for professed hole lovers, so get the hell out of our blog.

When I came to NCS in late 1967, I was a North Carolinean returning home (military brat). I learned that Duek and UNC had good teams but that when we beat em — that was like heaven. Winning seems to be more fun to experience when it doen’t happen a lot or when it comes unexpectedly. That’s why we marched to the Capitol then. That’s why the students trashed Hillsboro in the 70’s and 80’s everytime we beat UNC. We really didn’t do that a lot for Duke — just the heels.

That’s why when either Duke or UNC’s program go into tailspins like early Coach K years and the wonderful Brad Daughtery (sp?) years — we just get so damn spoiled that we become that loudarty guest that you folks in CH can’t stand.

To UNC there is a rivalry more with Duke. But to us — Ewe are fair game all the time. And every dog (or wolf) has its day. LOLOL HOWWWWWLLLLLLLLLLLL
