    Fred:

I think I posted the link to that article after you made a refernce to Willis a couple of weeks ago.

If Chuck really cared about his alma mater, he would resign. Fowler is hopeless.

I really like the picture of CTC and JB talking about job opportunities.

Okay…that’s just about enough of that.

    Next please.

That was nothing short of humiliating.

    NOTE: LEE Fowler’s E-mail is:

I have spent a significant amount of time this evening re-reading old topics concerning the idiocy that is Lee Fowler.

I encourage everyone on here to do the same.

This man is has demonstrated a consistent ability to fuck up virtually every situation that he has been charged with handling, even some situations that REQUIRE him not to handle at all.

Just wow. Is getting Les Robinson back as AD out of the question?

The bottom line is that Chuck did the school a favor…we have top of the line facilities, fantastic recruiting (despite the lack of wins) and national attention to our program just by Chuck bein’ Chuck.

Having said that he needs to go. I love CTC and would love to see him roaming the sidelines for the rest of eternity IF he is getting the job done. He’s not though, is he? I believe in my heart of hearts that Chuck was a definate upgrade to MOC, but his promises of finding the Promised Land has failed. We just need to go up one more level in the coaching chain and we’ll rock this joint out! Chuck has done what he can and his passion for NC State should be comended. On the other side of the coin; his passion for the Pack should also lead him to his OWN decision that he isn’t getting the job done and wants what is best for State. If that includes hiring Chow or (fingers crossed) Cower then that’s what we need. This isn’t Rocket Science to figure out. If you aren’t getting the job done you need to get someone who can. Hell; Chuck was a Math Major so he should clearly be able to see the numbers behind his futility.

Chuck you are the man, but it takes a man to say “my job here is done…

One more thing…thanks Chuck for all that you’ve done. Our facilities are bad ass and you’ve done well getting some key players for State. Thank you…

It does not look as if things will get better. I don’t think CA knows how to fix this.

Quote: “we have top of the line facilities, fantastic recruiting (despite the lack of wins) and national attention to our program just by Chuck bein’ Chuck.”

Recruiting: We have recruited well in skill players. But we have the most woeful offensive line on the planet Earth. The O.L. is THE most important unit on the football team. NC State and Chuck Amato would do well to seek one out.

National Attention: Chuck is getting national attention alright. No doubt about it. Wish Marye Anne Fox were around to give Chuck some “attention”

It is a real shame what has happened this year. I have been to every game this season and today was as bad as it has been all year.

There was no reaon to lose today. Sorry Amato, but the window has shut.

I really wish Chuck had come in under head coach Bill Cowher as the defensive coordinator. He’s a good recruiter (as we’ve seen) and can run a pretty decent defense (as we’ve seen) and LOVES NCSU. But his head coaching skills are SO LACKING. It’s a sad thing, but I don’t think he’s a good head coach at all.

Bunting to Chuck after game- i’m sure going to miss playing you
Chuck- your kids really get fired up to play us
Bunting-well you are our big game
Chuck- yeah, i know,,,,, we beat our rival also,,, FSU,,,,,, we really have their number,,,,,, i don’t know how everyone else beat us,,, i mean we were right there,,,, WF kids don’t even go there to play FB,,, we just have bad luck,,, oh well,,,,, we’ll get them next year

  13. packwolf90 11/18/2006 at 10:33 PM #

3 words, Fire Chuck Now! He’s useless if he can’t beat kurlina this year.

  14. NCSUDude17 11/18/2006 at 10:41 PM #

It should happen tonight. The problem is that it is gut wrenching that it could happen in 1 day or 1 year, most likely the second choice, sadly

  15. Frank 11/18/2006 at 10:49 PM #

CA would make a great associate head coach, recruiting coordinator and Defensive coordinator.

We should thank him for all he has done. In many ways he has been great for NCSU. I wish I could believe that things would get better next year with him as head coach.

Heck, I live 3,000 miles away in another country and I called that loss. I could feel the bad vibes from here. And in a weird twist, a friend of mine – who happens to be a UNC alum – were actually arguing over which team was worse, only we were picking our own teams to lose. Now THAT is a sad state of affairs. I have to admit that I am in the “go ahead and lose all the games so Chuck will HAVE to go” camp… I hope it works…

    Ugh…

sholtzma Says: “I didn’t see the Clemson game, so I am taking the word of those who did that our O-line played pretty well. But today, they (again) sucked. That’s about all I can say. Hard to run, hard to throw, hard to avoid getting sacked, hard for a play to develop–if your O-line sucks. Couldn’t quite tell from TV how much of the problem was the tackles, but that wouldn’t be anything new.”

I just read every post. Did you guys not know that Leroy Harris was on crutches and Curtis Crouch didn’t dress as well? Yes, they played pretty well against Clemson and yes they played badly today. But there is no need to lie by omission as we nail their hides up to the wall.

  18. Wolfpack4ever 11/18/2006 at 11:42 PM #

“How could he not be fired?? Oh, wait, yeah, I get your point now. Our spineless jellyfish of an AD will probably let it go.”

Do you guys just enjoy the insults or do you not know the hire and fire lines in the University system. Dickie boy would be taking the heat like LF if he wasn’t given the nod to fire Bunting.

  19. Rumble Pack 11/19/2006 at 12:12 AM #

I guess all we can do now, is pull hard for the Pack against those Greenville pansies and let the boys on the field know that we are behind them.

I hate to see Chuck go, because I hate to think of the demise of the program that could likely follow.

How appealling do you think the WolfPack job is?

  20. Slader4881 11/19/2006 at 12:42 AM #

the longer chuck stays the less apealling the job becomes

  21. blpack 11/19/2006 at 12:52 AM #

We had a horrible game today. Everything bears that out. It’s time for a change. LF needs to go too, but one thing at a time.

  22. gowofpac 11/19/2006 at 1:56 AM #

i think that this loss to carolina has to be one of the worst ever! the decision making by the coaches were crazy at best. same old nc state football.

This is a tough season, most schools have them. I am as frustrated as anyone, and feel Chuck is responsible. Directly. And I know that Fowler won’t fire him. Because he believes in people (I am assuming positive intent). To a fault. Chuck is a good man. Herb is a good man. But both have squandered resources, talent, and fan support with consistent mediocrity. We look like bad fans because our AD will not make a decision to fire a good man, and we have to basically revolt to prove a point.

If you must make that point, then make it a tough one. Financially. Eat your game ticket this weekend. Don’t sell it to a Pirate. Leave the seat empty. This is, of course, a tough choice. There are the student-atheletes to consider. They deserve a send-off for their memory books. But if you feel so strongly as to not attend next weekends weekly travesty, don’t contribute to EZU’s good vibes.
Yes, of course Chuck has advanced our program. And Herb advanced our program, too. However, we are a fanbase, and a university that has always strived to be trailblazing, and set pace, not struggle to keep up. We lucked into Sid, and the jury is still out. Chuck was a splash, and he revived our mediocre football program. Now we need to move forward and find a trailblazer to lead our football program. I would LOVE to see Paul Johnson coach our football team, but I find it as unlikely as Cowher. Chow would undoubtedly score points. My concern is that he is an older coach who nobody ever took a chance on. There could be a variety of reasons for that, but it warrants consideration. I don’t have a good answer. I just feel strongly that a change must be made.

I don’t buy the “thug” garbage either. Those “fine, young Tarheel players” are in court as much as the damn bailiffs. And we hear next to nothing about State players off the field under Amato.

But I feel like most players, the ones that aren’t superior atheletes, don’t improve on the field. And the game calling is wildly erratic and ineffective. Chuck probably deserves better, but the business is brutal, and he should be held accountable for the on-field product. Which, coincidentally, many neutral observers have decried as poor in recent years (I tend to agree), and with which we have endured patiently. With little to show for it, and little hope for improvement. Call it the seven year itch, but Chuck leaving is probably best.
Maybe we should hire Holtz away from ECU? It would be fun to shit in their boat for change. Not really.

Right now our fearless leaders are looking for the “EASY button”. Unfortunately for them, leading is never easy and the biggest fear I have is they will punt this decision down the road until next year. Profiles in courage doesn’t apply to our administration.

  25. Wulfpack 11/19/2006 at 10:37 AM #

When Carolina beats Duke next week and ECU comes into our house and kicks our ass, we will have the exact same record as the University of North Carolina. Holy shit. That is truly miserable.
