Diversion: The Big Picture

Just a quick tip of the hat to The Big Picture

We’ve enjoyed a couple of their entries this week and thought that we’d shoot you over there for some perusing.

Today’s “Stuart Scottization of ESPN” is one with which we can agree. And the ranking of the best recent sports brawls is the kind of stuff that you won’t see anywhere mainstream. Travel Packages.

Couldn’t agree more concerning the general comments re: ESPN. It’s hard to believe they are a sports network any more. I go there only to read the strip at the bottom of the screen for scores, and to watch specific sports events broadcast there (which is becoming rarer and rarer!)

Less sports on ESPN? Cmon – didn’t you see that exciting shuffleboard match recently? And curling — when those teams beat each up out there on the ice! 😉

Spot on in agreement about ESPN. Not only are the studio hosts like SS terrible but the game crews are just as bad for the most part. More often than not the only time I have ESPN on is to watch a game and usually the sound is off. Nothing like Lou Holtz talking about integrity and Vitale giving pointers on how to win the big game. But the worst part is they are very blatant in playing favorites with teams and players. To listen to them Mario Williams is the biggest bust in NFL history but quadruple killer Ray Lewis is the greatest player in the history of the planet Earth. Now I live to watch them gag having to talk about Rivers doing so well while some of the ESPN love children flounder!

imo, scott is one of the more tolerable hosts. I blame Disney for the overall deterioration of quality content.
