On Tuesday, April 11, 2006, the Fayetteville Oberver ran a story that inlcuded the following quote that we failed to highlight at the time. It deserves attention and we wanted to chronicle the quote:
“Everybody comes out and says, ‘You’re Carolina’s and Duke’s little brother and you can’t compete with those guys.’ Ya know what? Everybody who graduates from N.C. State goes out and competes against Duke and Carolina people every single day. And we kick their butt. You think I’m scared to compete with them in athletics? I expect the teams that I provide money to to compete with the best in the country.�
