Caulton, We Couldn’t Have Said It Better

The N&O’s ACC Now Blog posted Caulton Tudor’s Monday article, and it is a must read. Bravo!

(As of 9:10pm ET, the N&O’s ACCNow Blog is encountering technical problems.)

You are going to love this article! And, some Wolfpackers are going to feel compelled to apologize to Caulton Tudor for some criticisms that you have levied against him in the past.

To be fair, Tudor has done a phenomenal job supporting the general historical truth regarding NC State’s Basketball program and tradition over the last few years. This is just another example of it. We here at SFN are very appreciative of his work.

I get a feeling that the ignorance and lack of historical knowledge of college basketball in today’s younger ‘journalist-types’ (Gregg Doyel, Andy Katz, Jim Rome, Adam Gold, Ken Tysiac, etc) frustrate Tudor. (That’s another thing we have in common!) It is almost like the seasoned veteran is taking the clueless class dunce to school. And, he does a damn good job of it!

Last week, we ran an entry that ties very nicely to Tudor’s article called “Because We’re NC State”. We encourage you to read it by clicking here.

When the N&O gets their blog back up you will enjoy “State has every right to pursue name coach”.

Hope he’s not just playing us to get a big, fat raise!

Looks like a respected poster on the Memphis boards is very confident that Cal is staying. Must have a good rep as the other posters feel much, much better now…

Just click on sports…then on the toolbar is “Tigers”

If Cal does decide to see it our way…..get ready to blast Jack Ass Doyle.

  5. NeverGiveUp 04/09/2006 at 11:12 PM #

The article I see with Cal’s mug, is the same article I read early this morning. Am I missing something? What’s the title of the article?

  6. Jeremy Hyatt 04/09/2006 at 11:13 PM #

Chemba, i went to that link…. now what are you talking about?

  7. NeverGiveUp 04/09/2006 at 11:15 PM #

some dude on the memphis board said things will remain the same because the wheels are in motion to give Cal more money. Then everyone kissed his ass.

  8. Chemba 04/09/2006 at 11:17 PM #

The poster apparently knows what he’s talking about… I guess we’ll see

  9. Jeremy Hyatt 04/09/2006 at 11:18 PM #

that doesn’t mean anything. OF COURSE Memphis is going to offer him more money. and what is Cal going to say “please don’t try to make me a better offer to stay because I really want to go to Raleigh”. Like I say, this may not be over by a longshot.

  10. Chemba 04/09/2006 at 11:19 PM #

Nevermind… it’s too late. I would suggest re-reading the thread (and its title) for comprehension… don’t feel like having to explain it all

Did we fly to Austin to get rejected? This feels quite a bit different, but I am wrong all the time. Ask my wife, my boss, my customers, ….
    now I’m depressed.

    interesting..

NeverGiveUp, 15 years of Other Shoes Dropping tends to make a Wolfpack fan jumpy, don’t they? Cautiously optimistic here … more cautious by the second!

    Another possible smokescreen?

Tell me we did not fly that entire crowd to Memphis just to read him our “academic riot act”. Surely we cannot be THAT stupid.

  15. Jeremy Hyatt 04/09/2006 at 11:44 PM #

even if it does mean something, it doesn’t mean anything, its a post on a cruddy message board, lots of stuff have been spouted out today, mainly on our side.

    well said JH

“some dude on the memphis board said things will remain the same because the wheels are in motion to give Cal more money. Then everyone kissed his ass.”

That poster was a Keith Easterwood. he’s big on the AAU scene in Memphis.

Sorry, got it on a yahoo search.

  20. gotohellcarolina 04/10/2006 at 12:02 AM #

“Keith Easterwood Memphis” was the search. He was commenting on possible recruiting violations involving Arkansas. A Memphis’ biggest rival.

  21. gotohellcarolina 04/10/2006 at 12:04 AM #

Still doesn’t mean the end of things. Had to expect they would pony up. That they want to proves this is our guy.

  22. Jeremy Hyatt 04/10/2006 at 12:09 AM #

i don’t think it means anything new… we already knew Memphis was going to work on restructure his contract.

    The poster also indicates:
“In the end the current staff will most likely stay in place and continue building what is being recognized nationally as a strong basketball power.”

and uses the terms “most likely”. This is easily an opinion as we have been thinking because the Chancellor was on that plane it is “most likey” this thing will develop shortly. everyone is guessing still.

  23. cornellpackfan 04/10/2006 at 12:09 AM #

Keith Easterwood is an AAU coach for Team Memphis. I find it hard to believe that an AAU coach would have that close of a relationship with the staff or administration at U of Memphis…..somehow that smells of recruiting conflicts of interest.

  24. Jeremy Hyatt 04/10/2006 at 12:12 AM #

    AAU is?

  25. gotohellcarolina 04/10/2006 at 12:16 AM #
