Oregon Not an Option for Sendek

We turned your attention to this earlier in the week. Looks like Oregon has decided to stick with Ernie Kent rather than potentially pursue a relationship with Herb Sendek.

Should we expect a “cut and paste” of this statement from Fowler? I hope he changes everything and not leave a random “Oregon”, “Ducks”, or “Ernie” in their. Although “Ernie” is unfortunately similar to “Herbie” and I could totally see how something like that could slip through Fowler’s not-so-sharp revision of something.

Man. This going to be a slow, very painful process….

Realistically our chances for a change are probably somewhere near 50/50.

^The percentages are surely looking better. I’m only interested in the EXIT polling though.

Everybody hates me. Nobody loves me. Guess I’ll go chop wood.

Ernie Kent was as hot as a coach could be a few years back. I know he won one PAC 10 tourney title and maybe a regular season title in a different year. Seems like they made it to a Regional Final with Luke Ridenour leading a very exciting team. The last 2 years have been bad, this year ending 14 – 18 and most Duck fans wanting him fired.

In my opinion, this was a terrible press release by their AD.

Can you imagine the jokes if OUR AD was named Bill Moos?

I can, and I’d STILL prefer him to Fowler, sight unseen.

    Refreshing statement from an AD:

“I also bear the responsibility for the current and long term financial condition of Oregon athletics and because of that, have made the determination to forgo my option to extend Ernie’s contract past the 2010 season. It is my sincere hope that the results of next season will give me reason to reverse that decision.

Too bad. I just want us to have someone new on the sidelines next season. That is a great line from the Oregon AD above. He takes responsibility and is giving the coach one more year to put up or shut up. He wants results.
