Onepeat

As a hater of USC hype, I could not help but share the link to this wonderful website.

The mission of the website is to raise $10,000 to put a billboard in L.A. near the USC campus to accurately display the last three national champions hoisting their BCS trophies.

So far the site has raised about $6,000 in donations plus two $1,000 pledges. Apparently they are starting to get some media attention in addition to lots of criticism.

The Baton Rouge paper, who is also one of the $1,000, pledges had a nice article on the site in this morning’s addition.

I may have to make a pledge. Nothing irked me more than hearing all year long how USC was going for a three in a row. How can you do that when you have only won 1 title?

How about an expanded mission – annual hometown billboards congratulating the local team on its “Mythical National Championship?”

The AP title to me is more credible than the BCS title.

What’s the point? We’d all be better off if they sent ALL that money to the Katrina Relief fund. It’s one thing to debate dyanasties and who won the championship, but to erect a $10,000 billboard? Come on.

The best reason anyone can give for why SC doesn’t actually have two legitimate NCs in a row is that they aren’t SC fans and they don’t like the fact that their school is not getting all the attention. It’s a really good argument.

Pretty sad. I agree, Wolfbuff. People actually from the state of Louisiana still more concerned about football than taking care of important things. Their jealousy reallys shines through here.

anyone that thinks Hurricane Katrina is more important than NCAA Football needs to get their ignorant, bigoted pea-brain out of the South East Conference. having that said, the reason USC isn’t a repeat champion is because they lost to the mighty Cal-Bears.

Why didn’t the “mighty” Cal Bears beat UCLA last year? As for you LSU fans, I guess things do kind of suck for you. Having to share a co-National Championship is one thing. But, having to live through USC winning three Heisman trophies in a four year period, plus the incredible winning streak, four BCS bowl attendances in a row and gaining an incredible recruiting class for the upcoming season is probably just too much for you to deal with. You will get over it when Matt Leinart leads the Saints to a championship.

USC only won one title and shared another. To me that isn’t a dynasty. The Pats that was a dynasty it’s over for the Pats now. USC will lose 2 or 3 games next year with all of their talent gone now.

haha SC Alum! imagine that, USC lost to a Cal-Bears team that couldn’t even beat UCLA! and get this! They still have the bawls to call themselves “National Champions”! … “look at us, we lost to the Cal-Bears and are still National Champions” … …. “weeee we play wussy ball here in the Pac 10!” … “weeeee the refs gave us a late-hit call AND a roughing-the-passer call and we still couldn’t win the national championship!” … what? there’s hitting in football and it’s a rough sport too? you mean the Big XII and SEC actually play football and we’ve been playing wussy ball here in the Pac 10 all along? that’s ok, we’re pretty boys here in Cali… none of that football stuff, we just take home HEISMAN’S THAT WE CLEARLY DON’T DESERVE and don’t do any of that football stuff.” luvya!
