I guess we might as well get it all behind us in one week. Maybe the Wake game can serve as the turning of a new leaf to better times in Raleigh?
The NC State community has experienced various levels of embarrassment during the last week caused by:
* a thorough beating on the football field at the hands of Clemson
* a fan base that booed our coach on national television during the loss
* an Athletics Director that doesn’t know how to effectively manage any situation and has drawn a significantly large amount of negative attention to the boo-ing situation
* the “Mexi-Cam” incident that made its way onto Jim Rome’s national talk show today, and
* Julius Hodge, our most visible basketball player since David Thompson, being (wrongfully) investigated for sexual assault.
…and that is JUST in our Athletics Department.
I guess the rest of the University felt left out, because today I received an email from a friend in Atlanta who had received emails from friends who knew that she attended undergrad at NC State. They were ribbing her because evidently the “extermination of white people from the face of the earth“ is a concept originated and promoted by a professor whose name is currently listed on the University’s website.
The story has now hit national media outlets and heavily read blogs as evidenced here.
When will it end?
