NC State’s baseball team unfortunately joined the teams from Virginia and UNC-CH and was eliminated from the NCAA Baseball Tournament on Sunday. The Wolfpack lost two games over the weekend to lower-seeded Creighton.
The Wolfpack ended the season 41-19.
Quick Review
* The highlight of this year’s season was easily the Wolfpack’s dramatic series with rival, UNC-CH. State took 2 of 3 (all dramatic ones) from the Heels. Andrew Brackman’s strong performance in a Friday night thriller set the tone for the entire weekend. Going into the series Carolina was holding onto the top spot in the ACC. The Heels ended the year #5 in the conference. NC State finished 6th in the Atlantic Coast Conference this season.
* State had no problem winning games over teams like Delaware State (3), Campbell (3), San Diego State (3), William & Mary, The Citadel (2), UNC-G (2), UNC-W (2), Lehigh (3), and Elon.
* Including 6 games in the postseason, The Pack Nine compiled a .500 record of 14-14 against teams that participated in the NCAA Tournament this season.
We will have more review of the entire Athletics Season in the coming weeks…
