The ‘Wolfpack Nine’ finished the ACC Baseball season in 6th place, but was playing very well in the later part of the season. The Pack’s solid play has continued into the ACC Tournament where State defeated #3 seeded Miami on Wednesday.

As Technician points out, hosting regionals in the NCAA Tournament will depend on how well State plays against brutal competition in the ACC Tournament.
The competition the Pack will face in Jacksonville, however, was lightened a little when the 7th seeded Virginia Cavaliers handily beat the second 2nd Clemson Tigers on Wednesday afternoon. State will play the Cavs at 4pm today. The Wolfpack is now 40-15 on the season and is can rest safely that they have secured an NCAA Tournament berth. The better the Pack can do in the ACC Tournament, the better the chance the program has of hosting an NCAA Regional at Doak Field.
