Exhibit #89,654,928 highlighting NC State fans’ better-than-average support of their athletics teams:
Saturday, the #16-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide hosted South Carolina at 15,300-seat Coleman Coliseum in Tuscaloosa.
Alabama has participated in three consecutive NCAA Tournaments and advanced to last season’s Elite Eight. The Crimson Tide currently sits in first place of the SEC West and has a 20-4 overall. Despite all of this success, today’s home game joined a long list of games that the Tide has failed to attract at least 15,000 students.
Tim Brando: “Good crowd on hand among the so-called season ticket holders but if you look at the student section, you will see A LOOOOOT of empties. And that’s, I believe is the concern of Mark Gottfried. And understandbly so.”
Color Analyst: “When you got a basketball team that is 20 and 4 and nationally ranked, you would think the fan base would be here to watch them.”
Brando: “It should be embarassing to say that only a game with Kentucky can fill your building for a home game…In defense of the season ticket holders that weren’t here on Wednesday (win vs Arkansas), most of them are here today. The students will have to shoulder the brunt of the concern this week.”
