Nothing went right. I mean absolutely nothing. Even Buckets was just Average. It’s pretty simple, everything the Pack did in the first game, do the opposite.

KenPom likes Duke by 9, Vegas opened at Duke -10.

TJ is going to get tired today from carrying the heavy workload. I also think it’ll be a 5-on-8 game if it’s even close. The Pack used up all it’s magic on the final 6 shots last night and the run comes to an end today. Yes I’m being negative, it’s worked for the Pack so far.

    Always a blue. Duke is a really tough match-up for us this season. We can do it, but it’s going to be tough.

    Alas, Duke is royalty and as such should beware the Ides of March.

    OK … CUZ gets Parker on the defensive end of the court…
    and let the chips fall where they may.

    Whether we win or lose, will depend on our other six or seven kids.

    I’m hopeful, but unfortunately this game will probably be more about the officiating than the players. If TJ is assigned with guarding Parker, then we are going to see our star on the bench for 30% of the game….and we can’t beat Duke if that happens. Ideally we rotate a couple of defensive role players on Parker all game and protect TJ from the officiating. TJ, however needs to stop with the reach in’s that we’ve seen in the first two games. Don’t give the zebra’s anything like that because they are looking for the slightest possibility that a foul might have occurred to blow. F Hess. F Luckie and F TV Ted.

    This Duke team has much talent but also has much inconsistency. And this is why I don’t think they’ll be a Final Four team this season.

    If the 3s aren’t falling for Duke, they can be had. Plus, we owe them, big-time. Just like we did Syracuse.

    I feel good for Jim Boeheim, who doesn’t like Greensboro and now won’t have to see the place for another whole year. I feel good for Roy Williams, who now won’t have to whine about his team’s shooting woes until next week. (Did he see the second half officiating during the Pitt game?)

    State is back in the NCAAT conversation, but they’re on the wrong side of the bubble (second four out per ESPN). A win today will put them on the right side of the bubble, and depending on how other teams do, they will have a shot at the Dance if things fall into place. A close loss will put them high on the NIT list, but I don’t care about those 8:30 selections, just the ones at 6:00.

    Yesterday’s win was primarily for the program. Today’s opportunity will be primarily for the Dance. Duke is in no way 35 points better than State, not this year’s Duke team, anyway. If ever the Pack has had an “All Hands On Deck” game, this one’s it. This one should come down to pride.

    Yes the fish is flopping. Couldn’t find an animated one before the day got busy.

    I was also going to recap last night more and add the final possession clip I music but alas time is not my friend today.

    FYI: the latest Dance Card has State just 2 spots out. Huge jump with the win coupled with many bubble teams losing yesterday.

    Unfortunately, the biggest personnel matchup will be one we don’t have any control over- which three stripes do we get? We know that Swofford would like to see Duke get a number 1 overall seed in the dance, so it will be an uphill battle. Gonna need some role players to continue to step it up if we have any chance.

    Will today be the return of “King Karl” Hess to calling NC State games?

    Will the ACC have the sack to do that on the day of a game with as much importance as this one?

    Less than nothing.

    I know it is an unpopular idea around here, but I think Debbie Yow’s legacy will be a negative one because we sold the equivalent of “lifetime rights” to the conference by signing off the grants of rights and they know now that no matter how unbalanced their treatment of us and other mid-tier schools is, we have no recourse whatsoever.

    Along with LTRs ruining the basketball atmosphere, that was one of the worst things State has ever done to itself. We’ve gone quite far to doom ourselves, and in inimitable NC State fashion, we did it to ourselves.

    Hess, Ayers and Hull for the first game. I fully expect them to just stay on the court and ref the dook game too.

    I’m thrilled it won’t be Hull. He’s been pretty tough on us this season.

    I’d take last night’s crew again. Believe it or not, I confess that I believe Luckie would call fouls on Duke 🙁 … confession bear.

    I’m thinking Coaches have done a good job of keeping the kids focused and that they should come out ready to play today…

    Legs for forty minutes… not so sure about that…
    But our fans should be there for the kids at the end.
    and we should get some help in that department from “our friends” from Orange County.

    We can stop Parker…
    … but here’s hoping one of K’s outside shooters doesn’t go off for a career game…
